Wayzgoose 2025
Springhouse announces their 3rd Annual Wayzgoose Printing Festival, What Do You Stand For?, hosted through their print shop, Sourced Press. The festival will be held at Springhouse on Saturday, November 8th, and is made possible in part with support from grants Springhouse received from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Mid Atlantic Arts.
The Wayzgoose celebration is a printer’s tradition from the 16th century, celebrating the transition from printing by sunlight to candlelight. This year, we celebrate the connection between our community print shop and Ireland. Inspired by a transformative visit to the National Print Museum of Ireland, our community came together to create a print shop that celebrates the rich heritage of printmaking while fostering creativity and connection. Today, our community print shop continues to inspire—offering a weekly open studio and immersive opportunities for teens and adults, and is also a place where we publish books and cards that spread the message that life is a gift and it is our responsibility to take care of it.
At the 3rd Annual Wayzgoose Printing Festival we will celebrate the ways the print shop empowers us to use our voices through the printed word to stand up for what we believe in.
12-4pm Letterpress and Poetry Printmaking Workshop
4-5:30pm Community Printing Project (participants will have the opportunity to print what they stand for through various mediums)
6-7pm Irish Meal
7-830pm Concert by the Irish band Mist on the Mountain
