Sharing Our Learning: Economics & the Cosmos

4:00-5:30 – Capitalism Class Activities & Sharing
5:30-6:15 – Potluck meal, please bring a dish to share
6:15-7 – Space Teachings from the How Life Works class
7-8 – StarTalk with Astrophysicist Rose Smith and Quantum physicist Juniper Pollock followed by open time with telescopes

Join us for an engaging evening of exploration and discovery as high school students showcase their studies in Economics and Physics! The event begins with interactive experiences and thought-provoking discussions on our current economic paradigm and the possibilities for a more just and equitable system. Next, students will present their research on compelling physics questions about space, covering topics from the mysteries of black holes to the latest breakthroughs in space exploration.

The night will conclude with a special StarTalk led by quantum physicist Juniper Pollock and astrophysicist Rose Smith. Attendees will have the rare opportunity to peer through telescopes and explore celestial wonders, from distant stars to planets, while experts guide them through the science behind the night sky.
