On Saturday, April 20th Partnership for Floyd and Springhouse are hosting a BIG EARTH DAY celebration event at Warren G. Lineberry Park, 10AM-4PM. Morning activities include small workshops and skill shares (nature scavenger hunt, puppet-making, nature-crafts, etc) with the afternoon focus on the Procession of Appalachian Species!
Each year Springhouse celebrates the great biodiversity of our region by building and parading with giant puppets. These puppets are a way of honoring and highlighting these amazing creatures in an attempt to bring consciousness and conservation to this immense resource in our region. Please join us for the giant puppet parade 1-3PM. All are welcome to celebrate in the way you are called; we need musicians, extra puppeteers, dancers, etc! (Learn more about how you can engage with the Springhouse puppet project through puppet making open houses at https://springhouse.org/series/2024-puppet-open-houses/)
This BIG Earth Day event will close out with Partnership for Floyd’s 20th anniversary celebration… a free ice cream social after the parade, 3:30PM in the park. Join us to celebrate this special milestone for this organization!
