Regenerative Cultural Design

Why do you weep?

The source is within you

And this whole world is springing up from it.

Rumi

Springhouse is a long-term experiment in regenerative cultural design. Through ongoing experience in place over time, Sourced Design emerged as a model of regenerative, life-giving culture.

Sourced Design is a model of regenerative culture. Springhouse is one example of this model in action. To be in service to a regenerative culture is to commit to re-growing and re-building a culture that is connected to and takes care of the vitality in ourselves, one another, and the Earth. To do this, we must have the tools we need to start with ourselves and build a beloved community and a life-giving culture from there.
A regenerative culture takes care of vitality, especially where life is vulnerable. This culture has three essential components that are fostered by three essential practices. In a regenerative culture, vitality-centered development is supported by a vitality-centered educational design; there is a shared generative purpose that binds and guides a community; and culture happens when we commit in place over time. These components of a regenerative culture grow with the following practices: cultivating personhood, building beloved community, and remembering the wisdom of the Earth.
