Apprenticeships

We are generating lots of floating clouds. We need to ground our ideas so that they can change the world. Nothing changes unless it is grounded and manifested.

Angeles Arrien

There are people from around the world who regularly visit Springhouse to be inspired and to learn from a community oriented around caring for the spark of life in place over time.

Springhouse apprenticeships offer the opportunity for community leaders, educators, and artists to learn with us as we fundamentally transform the purpose and practice of education to move toward a thriving world.

Apprenticeships are uniquely crafted by Springhouse and community leaders, educators, or artists who are interested in learning with an intergenerational community committed to thriving.

If you are interested in apprenticing with Springhouse, you will work with us to craft the right learning experience for you. The apprenticeship can be for any amount of time and includes immersive opportunities in the school and/or print shop, along with mentoring from Springhouse staff to allow for reflection on those experiences.

Apprenticeships in Our School

For any amount of time, immerse yourself in the Springhouse intergenerational school to learn firsthand about our unique educational design and curriculum. During your time with us, you can attend classes that explore relevant and meaningful cultural topics, spend time outdoors on campus, share in community meals and events, engage in opportunities for personal development, and have conversations with Springhouse staff about the community design and curriculum that informs everything we do. If you are interested in setting up an apprenticeship in our intergenerational school, please contact Sarah Stabler.

Apprenticeships in Our Print Shop

For any amount of time, immerse yourself in the Springhouse print shop, Sourced Press, to learn more about how we engage art and media to move toward our vision of a thriving world. During your time in the print shop, you can learn the process of letterpress printing and other forms of art and media-making, participate in educational experiences with youth that incorporates art and media, share in community meals and events, engage in opportunities for personal development, and have conversations with Springhouse staff about the community design and curriculum that informs all that we do. If you are interested in apprenticing in our community print shop, please contact Sarah Pollock.

“During my apprenticeship at Sourced Press, the staff shared the technical expertise I needed to make my print vision a reality. I highly recommend Sourced Press not only for their expertise, but also their community practices. Spending time in the print shop feels like time spent with friends and family.”
~ Juniper Pollock

If you are interested in both the school and print shop apprenticeships, please contact Sarah Stabler to learn more.

School Founders Apprenticeship

Springhouse is committed to being a strong local example of what we hope for in the world. We are committed to supporting others around the world to use our unique design and curriculum to start vitality-centered learning communities around the world. After visiting and learning with Springhouse, some people are called to take the design and curriculum that we articulated and use it to create a learning community in their respective place. Founding a school or learning community that centers the source of life is not for the faint of heart. The journey is rigorous with many unknowns. Though it is not easy, building beloved community is also liberating and life-giving. If, after apprenticing and learning with Springhouse, you are called to use the design and curriculum to start a learning community in your respective place, please contact Dr. Jenny Finn to learn more.
