Springhouse Community School has been a beacon of diversity and inclusivity
for the past decade, fostering an environment where respect, dignity, and
equality are the foundations upon which the educational experience is built. As
the school celebrates its 10th anniversary, it is a testament to the vision and
dedication of the community that has come together to create a truly
remarkable learning environment.

During my first visit to the school last year, I was struck by the palpable sense
of warmth and vitality that permeated every aspect of the community. The
faculty, staff, and students all seemed to share a common language and a deep
commitment to the schools core values, which have been instrumental in
driving the institution’s growth and success. This cultural shift where roles,
responsibilities, and expectations are aligned with a common vision has been a
key factor in Springhouse’s transformation over the past 10 years.

‘Life is a gift, let’s take care of it’- this guiding principle is evident in the way
the school operates, with a focus on nurturing the whole person and providing
multiple ways for their development. My journey with Springhouse has
equipped me with a number of skills towards building a beloved community-
one of the five principles of sourced design at Springhouse. An environment
where people are engaged, respected, and working together towards a shared
vision is crucial for cultivating a strong sense of belonging and community.

As Springhouse celebrates this milestone, it serves as a shining example of
what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared
purpose. The school’s unwavering commitment to honoring diversity,
promoting equality, and fostering a culture of care and concern has
undoubtedly contributed to its remarkable success.

Today if you were to have a conversation with the 10 year old version of me and
ask him what he will like to do with his life when he grows up, he will most
certainly answer ‘When I grow up, I would want to start a community like
Springhouse! I bless the day I met Jenny Finn, the founder, and had the
opportunity to spend time with the vibrant community.

I am sending my best thoughts and congratulations from Kenya to the
Springhouse community on this momentous occasion, and I am excited to see
what the next decade holds for this truly inspiring institution. May you
continue to be a beacon of hope and a model for what is possible when we
come together in service of the greater good.
