Are you interested in giant puppets walking the streets of Floyd?
At Springhouse Downtown, we believe that puppets hold the power to open pathways to understanding, invite play, and allow for deeper connections and deeper storytelling in Floyd.
That is why we are partnering with our community to plan a puppet event for this coming Spring. We are holding a Community Puppet Meeting on February 3rd from 5:30-7:30pm and would love for anyone interested in helping bring this beautiful and enchanting storytelling form to our town to join us. We will gather to explore what themes we would want to pursue, be inspired by one another, and brainstorm ideas for how these puppets could help create a culture where all life thrives. Our hope is that we will walk away from this meeting with a theme that individuals and organizations can explore either at Springhouse Downtown or on their own. Please join us! Springhouse Downtown ~ February 2023 Featured Artist: Ian Stabler
Ian Stabler is the Springhouse Director of Creative Spacemaking. Ian is a musician, creator, artist, mentor, and maker. Ian’s love of creation is contagious and a gift to Springhouse Downtown. His art is a reflection of his deep commitment of seeking truth. He sees art and the creation of it as a catalyst for belonging and change. Ian believes that art in education can be as expansive as the learners who participate in it and in the potential for art to teach us depth within ourselves and the world around us.
A recent project of Ian’s includes woodblock prints of archetypes that inspire us to reflect.
We’re grateful for the magic and inspiration Ian brings to Springhouse Downtown. Come join Ian at Open Studio time: Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays 4-7pm.
