This year, Springhouse is thrilled to support the Christiansburg Institute, which is a grassroots, African American cultural heritage and historic preservation non-profit organization with a mission of community education, intergenerational empowerment, and the responsible stewardship of African American history, stories, and culture here in southwest Virginia.
Springhouse is grateful for the transformative educational work the Christiansburg Institute does in this region. They share and preserve the Historic Edgar A. Long building as well as history and stories of the Christiansburg Industrial Institute and African American history and culture.

Join Christiansburg Institute and Springhouse on November 29th, the day of #GivingTuesday, from 10am to 6pm at Springhouse Downtown! The Christiansburg Institute is curating a pop-up museum that highlights the 100-year history of the first high school in southwest Virginia to educate the formerly enslaved, the historic Christiansburg Industrial Institute (1866-1966).
